E S P O T

| Espot, is located in the valley of the river Escrita and is a traditionally isolated village because of its strategic situation,far from a general road and until a few years ago it was quite unaccessible for tourism. Its winter sports resort, called Espot Ski (before Super Espot), has been the revulsive that needed this charm and typical village, that has improved considerably its accesses by road, which make at the present time extremely easy to arrive at the skiing resort from the village. |

Its infrastructures are fantastic for the development of tourism, as much in winter time as in summer time. It is a start point to reach the National Park of Aiguestortes and Sant Maurici, a natural beauty with its traditional image " els Encantats " as well as other many lakes and unforgettable landscapes. The resort also has excellent Ski alpine Runs. |

In spite of its transformation Spot preserves a medieval watchtower and the Romanesque bridge over the river Escrita, river that divides the village in two parts. The other river is the Torrassa. We can visit more than 20 lakes in this area,all of them of a glacial origin,like the Ratera, and mountains like Amitges, Pui de Linyŕ, Els Encantats etc. Its municipal area is about 97 Kms2 and the number of inhabitants registered at the present time is 272. It belongs to the Local Court of Tremp, and to the County of El Pallars Sobirŕ. |
