The name of this Town is consequence of the union of  the villages of Escaló, Jou and Unarre. This modern and well situated village is very accessible by the road C-13 ; it is located at the top of the reservoir of " La Torrasa ".

   This reservoir  is very famous for the  quantity,quality and  size of its trouts. There is also Romanesque constructions in this valley. In Escalarre, Santa Mª de Àneu is the spiritual center of the valley, as well as San Pedro Burgal, in Escaló, the hermitage of  Ntra. Sra. de la Roca in Escart, etc.
