ISONA IN ENGLISH

	Isona, is one of the most important villages in El Pallars Jussà and depends on the Tremp Administrative Area. It has an extent of 135, 3 Kms 2 and its number of inhabitants is around 1.272. It is accessible from Lleida, through Artesa de Segre (C-14), Segre- Folquer (L-512) and Folquer - Isona (C-1.412). Its is 650 Mts. above the sea level. Its basic economy is the agriculture and cattle breeding and trading.

		This municipality is formed from 1,970 by the villages of: Isona, Covet, Llordà, Maos de Sant Martí, Siall, Benavent de la Conca, Biscarri, Gramenet, Montodó, Conques, Sant Romà d´Abella, Basturs, Orcau and Figuerola d´Orcau.
Municipal Museum

In April 1,995 Municipal Museum openned its doors, specialized in presenting the territory that before was of Roman culture and where the previous residents were the dinosaurs, that have left important tracks of those times and now take care in this Museum. Its artistic and cultural patrimony is therefore important and deserves to be visited in addition to the museum, its vestiges of the Roman city of Aeso, church Santa Maria in Isona and some of the medieval castles that have lasted to the present time spread out by all the territory.
