Llavorsí is one of the Pyrenees' villages of more reputation, obtained in these last times perhaps thanks to the incorporation in its economy of the so-called adventure sports. It belongs to the Region of El Pallars Sobirà and depends on the Tremp Administrative Area. It has at the present time 273 registered inhabitants, its municipal term covers an extent of 69 Kms2 and is 811 Mts above the sea level.
It is situated strategically in confluence of the roads that go to the top of El Pallars Sobirà, La Vall Ferrera and La Vall de Cardós from Road C-13 / N-260, starting on La Pobla de Segur. The tourism is the motor of its increasing economy, and on this activity we can emphasize: The ruins of the Castle de Gilareny, last redoubt of the County of Pallars (Compte del Pallars). The Romanesque Paintings in the church Sant Cerni de Baiasca. All type of signalized, historical, cultural itineraries and of nature in Tirvia and in the Comma de Burg, to the depopulated Sanctuary in Biuse and in Les Bordes d´Arnui. It is also an appreciated area by fishermen by its quality, size and fierceness of its trouts,fishing is possible in the rivers that come together in Llavorsí: La Noguera Pallaresa and el Farrera.
