LLIMIANA

   Llimiana is located at 790 Mts. of altitude at the top of a hill and it was built on guard purposes, with an extent of 41 Kms2 and 136 inhabitants at the moment according to the last census. It belongs to the region of  El Pallars Jussà and depends on the Local Court of Tremp. It has three populated areas: Els Obacs de Llimiana, Mas de Solduga and Llimiana itself. It is easily accessible by the road C-13  and  getting the crossing at the bottom of the lake, inCellers.  An hydroelectric Power Station exists in this point that divides the two borders of the river Noguera Pallaresa.

   It is an old village as well as  proud of its past.  In  some of the feudal houses still are visible shields of those times. In the crossing near Llimiana the traveller can get close to San Miquel de the Vall, an area of a varied nature and singular beauty.
