SORIGUERA

   Soriguera is situated to 1,192 Mts. of altitude, with a municipal term of  106 Kms.2 and at the present time has  309 inhabitants.  It belongs to the region of  El Pallars Sobirà and to the Tremp Administrative Area.

  The inhabited nucleous in chronological order from the most to the least are: Vilamur,  Llagunes,  Tornafort,  Baro,  Soriguera,  Malmercat,  Arcalís,  Escós,  Embonui,  Estach,  Rubió,  Puigforniu, Freixa, Sabarneda,  Llavarès and Mencui.

   Soriguera is situated near the N-260 road between Sort and La Seu d´Urgell, turning right after after Vilamur. Sometimes it  is difficult  to orientate correctly the visitors because of the dispersal situation and distances among the villages. Baro is one of the most well known villages there by its gastronomy and excellent restaurants, situated right there in the N-260, between La Pobla de Segur and Sort. Among others we can recommend to see the Sanctuary of  Ntra. Sra. de Arboló, situated in a crossroads to the right in the N-260,as we said,between La Pobla de Segur and Sort.
