The municipality of Tirvia is formed by the villages of: La Bana, Terveu and Tirvia itself. There is a total of 116 inhabitants, its municipal territory covers 8.8 Kms 2, belongs to El Pallars Sobirà region and belongs to the Tremp Administrative Area.
It was formerly a fortified village which suffered from numerous attacks in many periods along History, remaining almost nothing from last one. We emphasize the church La Mare de Déu de la Pietat and the old chapel Sant Joan Baptista. Once a year a very well-known painting contest take place as well as a procession by Easter called " Armats “.
We get to Tirvia from Llavorsí by the road heading Burg, Farrera and Alendo and also from this road we can get easily to La Glorieta, Montesclado and Mallolís.
