LA VALL  FARRERA

 

Farrera

    Farrera belongs to  the region of El  Pallars Sobirà and depends on the Tremp Administrative Area. It is situated 1,320 m above the sea level, with an extent of  63 Km2  and has at the present time 88 inhabitants.

    Last times have bring to Farrera new people and families with artistic skills. We outstand its church  Sant Roc, which although comes from  medieval ages does not contain a vestige of those times, so common in the pyrenean area. Of course,we talk about  Romanesque Art.

  The added villages  are: Burg, Montesclado, Alendo, La Glorieta and Mallolís.

   Its economy has been always based in these areas on the so-called  traditional economy. Agriculture and mainly  cattle raising, although last times the  tourist economy has rapidly grown thanks to the tranquillity and beauty of these landscapes.
